Good Friday is the one holiday designed for those who hurt, for the lonely, the sick, the dying, the alienated, the outcast, the confused, the disenfranchised. Here is God, being exactly all those things, feeling all of that, understanding it from the inside.
This is the day we say, "Someone understands us. Someone stands with us." This is the day we say, "Yes, life sucks, but there is the promise of something better, just a few days off..."
I raise my glass to Good Friday, and to all who await the end of sorrow.
