Neat letters precisely written
order my thoughts.
No, these letters do more than order,
they still;
I surrender; they flow;
the pen's a siphon,
a sluice gate,
releasing the chatter before it forms,
before if festers and foments.
This is how journaling heals,
by revealing and reducing problems
to their true state--
just swirls, circles and stems of ink on paper,
a quarter-inch tall and a few inches long,
not much bigger than a pretzel stick.
Today you might ask:
"Is this a problem
or a pretzel?"
