You don't understand?
It's okay.
If understanding were easy,
it wouldn't mean much.
The puzzling,
the digging,
the mulling
grows you.
Sure, you can buy the ready-made,
break-apart cookie dough.
It's fast; it's easy--
satisfaction in 10 minutes.
But they never taste as good
as the ones you make yourself.
I know this from experience.
The effort
grows you.
"I don't get it."
Don't give up.
"If I don't get it,
it doesn't matter."
Don't be lazy.
"Tell me what it means."
Don't wait for someone else's explanation.
Slow down.
Read it (hear it) again.
Let it simmer.
At some point, Aha!
"I can't do it."
Yes, you can.
You can do it.
The process grows you.
Nobody understands at first,
but for those who take the time?
Life blooms.
