I have concluded
that everything I believe is wrong,
if not entirely, then certainly in part.
I am wrong in what I believe about
politics,
religion,
the environment,
the people of Canada,
the life cycle of the flea,
the best way to get that stain out of my new shirt...
I am wrong in what I believe about
our cats,
friends,
family,
my husband,
myself.
I'm simply wrong.
To admit this is both humbling and freeing.
It means I no longer need to be right.
I don't need to be right, because I'm not!
There are over 8 billion people in the world,
each with their own beliefs about...well...everything:
what arrogance
to imagine
I've gotten it right?
I am wrong about everything,
and am quite content.
The next time you hear me assert something--
as if I know what I'm talking about--
keep this in mind.
